Characterization (by Bas Kokshoorn):Shell very robust, slender conical, sand coloured, reaching 21.2 mm in length. Length/width 1.8-3.3-3.7. Protoconchs all damaged or absent, remaining protoconch whorls creamy white/yellow, smooth. Teleoconch whorls up to 10 1/8 (19 mm heigh specimen), suture shallow. Teleoconch with very thick, fringed costae. Costae are orthocline and fringed edges of costae are irregularly fused with those on same whorl. Costae are not in line with those on adjoining whorls, number of costae increases over the whorls. Costae often coronate, few peaks merged with costae on preceeding whorl. Some costae thickened to varices, 1-2 every whorl. Where visible, interspaces with dense axial and spiral sculpture. Third teleoconch whorl with 10-16 costae. Fifth teleoconch whorl 16-21 costae. Last whorl with thick spiral ridge. Aperture subcircular. Apertural length/shell length 0.2-0.3-0.4. Umbilicus absent.
